Angela Burnette, an auditor with Yeo & Yeo PC, presented the 2007-08 report at the board of education meeting and gave the district an unqualified (clean) opinion, which is the best possible.

She said despite going into the fund equity by $73,724 last school year, it could have been much worse if expenses had not been monitored so closely.

The 2007-08 audit included general fund revenues of $9,773,848 and expenses of $9,847,572; food service revenues of $553,336 and expenses of $588,650; and athletic department revenues of $302,712 and expenses of $304,569.

Superintendent Duane Lange reviewed the non-homestead millage renewal process again and said a decision on what direction the school district will go should be made at the December meeting.

In other business, the varsity girls volleyball team received recognition at the meeting for winning its seventh straight district championship and advancing to the regionals.

It also was reported that the elementary Halloween parade along Gayle's Trail was enjoyed by about 250 people and was much safer for students on the path than prior years.
