For the boys, Almont's Don Tobias bested his time from earlier in the week by a little more than one and a half minutes by finishing with a time of 17:52. Almont finished sixth with 216 points. James Fisher of Yale also subtracted 1:15 off his first place finish in the BWAC Jamboree. Fisher finished fifth at Harbor Beach with a total time of 16:50. The seventh place Bulldogs earned 227 points. Rick Jones was the best runner for 9th place Capac with a time of 18:00. Capac finished with 235 points. Marlette finished 14th at the event with 337 points. Robert Fingerele paced the Red Raiders with a time of 18:05. Kevin Ahrens of Imlay City improved his time by 1:42 from the BWAC Jamboree to pace the 15th place Spartans with a time of 17:56. Imlay City finished with 338 points. North Branch's Aaron June had his best time ever finishing at 20:03. The Yale girls continued their strong week with another Top 5 finish. The Lady Bulldogs finished in fifth place with 148 points. Yale was paced by Lauren Lauwers with a time of 20:54. Mikayla Pardon had a strong 12th place finish with a time of 20:31 to pace the 11th place Imlay City Spartans. The Lady Broncos of North Branch finished a strong 12th place with 289 points. "The girls ran great, almost everybody ran a season-best or career-best time," said North Branch cross country coach Jason Castle. "These girls are right where they need to be this time of the year." The Lady Broncos were led by Meghan Petiprin with a season-best time of 20:53. Jessica McKnight and Grace Morquecho ran career bests with 23:19 and 24:05 respectively. Brown City finished in 13th place with 343 points. The Green Devils were led by Katie Takacs with a time of 22:38. Capac was paced by Kaitlin Miller with a time of 23:35. Capac finished in 14th place with 363 points. |
