Lapeer Junior Golf Tourney crowns new winners



LAPEER -- The Lapeer Junior Golf Program wrapped up its summer by holding a tournament at the Lapeer Country Club on August 1. The boys and girls who participated in the summer-long program competed in the one-day tournament, and there were four winners from each the boys and the girls who ended up winning in separate categories on the day.

For the boys, Anthony Wagner was the 'low gross' winner in the ages 15 & Over division when he shot a 102 for the day. The low gross winner of the 14 & Under division for the boys was Matthew Wagner, who shot a 109.

In the handicap boys division, K.C. Grondin was the winner of the 15 & Over division when he shot a 113. Grondin has a handicap of 34.4, which gave him a net score of 78.6, making him the winner of the 'low net' category.

The low net winner for the boys ages 14 and under was Henry Peabody, who shot a 119 and has a 33 handicap, giving him a low net score of 86.

For the season, Jarrett Peplinski had the low average for boys 15 and over with a 50.7 while Matthew Wagner averaged a 54.8, which was the lowest average in the 14 and under boys division.
