FireHouse, Liz Larin, local acts to entertain crowds



The musical line-up for Lapeer days includes everything from rock-a-billy to a Jimmy Buffett beach party tribute band.

The following are scheduled performers for the annual event:

Flint Master Singers: 2-2:45 p.m. on the Main stage

The Flint Master Singers formed in 1995 and provide opportunities for experienced singers to perform a variety of music year-round. The mixed chorus can perform as a group of up to 40 singers or in smaller ensembles. They also offer short Interlude acts, which are groups of two to five costumed performers. Their repertoire includes Broadway show tunes, patriotic songs, folk songs, old standards and current hits, Christmas music, and a variety of other sacred music. The group has toured nationally and into Canada, including the Maritime Provinces and the Canadian Rockies. In 2003, they toured the American West, ending with a patriotic concert at Mt. Rushmore.

Cash O'Riley and the Downright Daddies: 4:45-5:45 p.m. on the Main stage

After disbanding the Skyo-Billie Cadillacs in 1999, Cash O'Riley began touring the country spreading modern American rockabilly to wherever he went. He's performed at international festivals including Viva Las Vegas, Rockabilly Rebel Weekend in Indianapolis, and The Rockin' 50s Fest in Green Bay, Wisc. Albums include "Booze, Lust, Lies, & Heartache...," "Tales of Steppin' Off The Rural Route," and "Get Lucky, Break Down Or Die."

Pete and the Parrot Heads: 6:15-7:46 p.m. on the Main stage

The Jimmy Buffett beach party tribute band features Pete Hall on guitars, bass, harmonica and vocals; Steve Pinkney on guitars, mandolin, slide guitar, and vocals; and Dave Ludington on drums. The have performed nationally, and in Canada, London, England, and Japan. They've made music with legendary performers like Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bob Seger, Alice Cooper, and more. They've performed in rock 'n' roll venues and on the Grand Old Opry radio show Nashville Star Spotlight.

Joanna Cotten: 7:45-9:15 p.m. on the Main stage

Calling her music "Funkabilly," Joanna Cotten mixes pure country voice and southern soul. Born in Memphis and raised in Forrest City, Cotten began her musical career at 4 years old by learning breathing techniques, art songs, and hymns. Her musical journey began at local talent shows to the Memphis' Grand Youth Opry and Rhodes College. She's also performed in various nightclubs in Nashville, and eventually made her way to New York City. Her debut album is "High Maintenance" and features the hit single "The Prize." Other songs include the funky romantic frustration of "Hard to Want" and the introspective and inspiring balladry of "Keep My Faith."

Mike Boyd and the Genesee Ramblers 11 p.m. to midnight on the Main stage

The Patin Trio: 2:45-3:45 p.m. on the Main stage

These three sisters, RoseAnn, Pat, and Gerri, have been singing their own unique style of harmonies for 10 years. They specialize in 1930s and 1940s music, broadway, classic country, and Christmas favorites, bringing along entertaining stage props, costumes and humorous choreography. They started out as kids singing songs at the kitchen table and now travel all over Michigan performing at fairs, festivals, private parties, hospitals, and more.

One Neo Eon: 4:15-5:15 p.m. on the Main Stage

Lapeer's own progressive rock jazz musicians consists of Rick Samano on guitar, John Ingersoll on keyboards, Brian Lemons on drums and percussion, and Tim Baum on bass.

FireHouse: 7:15-8:15 p.m. on the Main stage

Rock 'n' roll band FireHouse has been performing for over a decade producing gold, platinum, and multi-platinum records in the United States and countries abroad. Their first album, "FireHouse" was released in 1990, producing hits like "Shake & Tumble," and "Love of a Lifetime." At the 1991 American Music Awards, they were named Best New Hard Rock/Metal Band. In 1992, they released Hold Your Fire, which produced hits including "Reach for the Sky" and "Sleeping with You." Other albums include 3, Good Acoustics, and their eighth album, Prime Time, in 2003. Their fifth album, Category 5, climbed to No. 4 on the Japanese charts, and a supporting promotional tour of Japan followed. On April 22, 1999, the band recorded their first live album in Osaka, Japan, titled "Bring 'em Out Live."

Longneck Strangler: 10-11 p.m. on the West stage

From steel guitar to the fiddle to the acoustic guitar, along with some harmonica, this Detroit band can be labeled as country and rock 'n' roll. Their new CD, "My First Rodeo," breaks barriers in this unique mix, with songs including "Take Me Off This Mountain," "Choose You Over Booze," and "Gone, Gone, Gone." It was produced by Chuck Alkazian, who's produced for such artists like Sponge, Christina Aguilera, and Uncle Kracker. It was recorded at Pearl Sound in Canton.

Big Bucks & The Loose Change Blues Band from 10:30 p.m. to midnight on the Main Stage (No biography available at press time)

Daniel's Window: 12:15-1:45 p.m. on the Main stage

These Christian rock 'n' rollers have produced two critically acclaimed albums, "It's a Mystery" in 1999, and "Illuminate" in 2003. Their recent album is "Strangely Looking Forward," which includes such songs like the prodigal son themed "Such a Long Time" and the rejuvenating "Tidal Wave," both showing off the group's hard-hitting attitude with slightly urban undertones. Historic hymn "Solid Rock" and the celebratory "You Reign" are also featured.

The Fairlanes and Devilles 2-3 p.m. on the Main stage

The Del-Vikings: 3:15-4:05 p.m. on the Main stage

The Del-Vikings were one of the first rhythm and blues groups to fully grasp the style of rock and roll. The original group had served together in the United States Air Force in 1955. Today, the group consists of original lead singer Norman Wright, and Norman Wright Jr. on guitar, Anthony Wright on bass, and Mike Machado on drums. During a studio session in the 1950s, the group recorded "Baby, Let Me Know," "Come Go With Me," "Don't Be a Fool," "True Love," and more. They performed "Come Go With Me" during the 1996 Summer Olympic Games in Atlanta.
