Tim Wilcox, sales manager at Merollis, said he decided to contact the County Press' management after his store was flooded with complaints from his customers over the disappearance of the TV Book from Lapeer County's longest continuously published newspaper. "This is something our customers really enjoy," said Wilcox, a lifelong Lapeer resident. He said he decided to contact his advertising representative at the County Press to see what could be done. According to Sera, giving up the TV Book earlier this year was a hard decision, but ultimately a financial one. "It didn't have the support and it's costly to produce," she said. Following the recent end of the TV Book, The County Press was inundated with calls and complaints from dozens of disappointed readers and subscribers that enjoyed and used the TV Book on a regular basis, and as a result had been working to accommodate the demand for TV listings. Wilcox said the new TV Week inside Marquee is a good fit for Merollis Cadillac-GMC. Unlike a lot of other advertising vehicles, he said, "This is going to be around the house for a full week." He added he at the staff at Merollis Cadillac-GMC are excited about being a part of the County Press' new venture -- Marquee. "It's a great thing. I'm going to like knowing what's going on, what movies are play, what's fun and exciting in Lapeer," Wilcox said. "We're excited about filling a niche that hasn't been filled before," Sera said. "The redesigned TV Week book is a big part of that." The Marquee is a tabloid size publication designed to be a comprehensive guide to arts and entertainment in the greater Lapeer County area. Regular features include a restaurant review, a religion (church) page, as well as a comprehensive calendar that offers activities throughout the area.
