Loori lectures widely on photography and the creative process at art centers, museums and universities around the country. His latest exhibit, The Tao of Water, is on display through Aug. 9 at Gallery 194.

Photographed over a period of two years among the rivers and streams of Raquette Lake in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York, The Tao of Water explores the spirit and multi-faceted nature of water. This exhibit includes the Michigan premiere of Loori's latest film Water Speaking Water which merges visual images, natural sounds, and music into an expression of the voice of the mountains and rivers themselves.

The July 25 reception will include an audio-visual interactive Skype session with the artist, refreshments and installation viewing. Additionally, there will be a bonus screening of Mountains and Rivers, Loori's award winning film produced in 2003 which interweaves modern science and ecology within a compelling moral and ethical paradigm.

Gallery 194 is located at 194 West Nepessing in downtown Lapeer next to the historic PIX Theatre. Donations to Elevate the Arts campaign are welcome at the door.
