Track: Broncos girls sweep double dual



ESSEXVILLE -- The North Branch girls track and field team swept a double dual meet on Wednesday, defeating Millington by a score of 107-39 and Garber by a final of 85-61.

"The girls ran very well," North Branch coach Jason Castle said. "There were a lot of season-best times and distances for us on Wednesday. The girls are improving.

"It was another great team effort."

North Branch's Olivia Kohler once again was a force on the track. The junior won both the 100 meter hurdles (15.99) and the 300 meter hurdles (48.40). Kohler also was a part of two winning relay teams. Kohler teamed up with Jerica Tedford, Taylor Kaiser and Teal Washington to win the 800 meter relay with a time of 1:52.85. Kohler then teamed with Kaiser, Washington and Sasha Ferrett to win the 1600 meter relay with a season-best time of 4:20.92.

Megan Petitpren was also a double-winner for North Branch, winning both the 1600 meter run with a season-best time of 5:47 and the 3200 meter run with a time of 12:57. Amanda Cranick was the final first place winner for North Branch, winning the shot put with a career-best throw of 30-00.10.
