Track: Wildcats split double-dual



MILLINGTON -- Mayville's girls track and field team traveled to Millington for a double-dual meet with the host school and Frankenmuth on Wednesday.

The Wildcats finished second to the state-ranked Frankenmuth team, losing 109-27 but they were able to defeat Millington by a score of 68-55.

Mayville had two girls place first overall at the meet. Brianna Vert captured first place in the high jump, clearing a height of 4-10.

Rachel Grover took top honors in the 200 meter dash with a time of 28.4.

Second place finishers for Mayville included Nichole Grover, who took second in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.69. Morgan Bell grabbed a second place finish in the long jump with a leap of 14-7.

The 1600 meter relay team of Rachel Grover, Nichole Grover, Samm Leiber and Brianna Vert came in second with a time of 4:43. The 3200 relay team for Mayville also finished second with a time of 12:42.

Lucinda Bogdan finished in third place in the 200 meter dash with a time of 29.93. Samm Leiber took fourth place in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 19.79. Sarah Buggia took fourth in the 1600 meter run with a time of 6:37 and Dacia Crumby took fourth in the 400 meter run at 1:17.
