ALLENTON — Unmasked and chatting on his cell phone, a man robbed a Capac bank Monday morning.

Local law enforcement and the FBI hope the public will recognize the suspect whose mug appears clearly on several surveillance photos from the camera inside the Capac State Bank.

The robbery occurred at 9 a.m. after a man entered the Allenton Branch of Capac State Bank on Capac Road. It's unclear if any customers were inside the building.

"He entered the bank soon after it opened," said St. Clair County Sheriff's Communication Director Gary Albrecht. "No weapon was seen."

The suspect passed a note demanding money to a cashier. The employee complied; law enforcement isn't releasing the amount of cash that was stolen, said Albrecht.

The suspect, who is thought to be alone, fled with his loot and drove north on Capac Road. The getaway car is described as a light color, 1990s model Ford Taurus.

Witnesses describe the robber as a white male, between 25-30 years old, about 5-feet, 9-inches tall, with dark hair. He wore a tan Carhartt jacket, blue jeans and a black stocking hat.

The incident remains under investigation by the St. Clair County Sheriff's Department and the FBI. Anyone with information is asked to phone (810) 987-1711.
