The walk will be held between the hours of 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will take place on Third, Main, Bancroft, and Fourth streets, along with Almont Avenue.

"Everyone is eligible to participate," said DDA Director Brad Barrett. "The public is encouraged to visit all participating downtown merchants marked by window signage to receive recipe coupons. Coupons will be redeemable for a downtown Imlay City recipe walk cookbook. The cookbook price will be on a sliding scale determined by the number of coupons redeemed."

Barrett said the sliding price scale for the recipe book will begin at $2 and will not exceed $5.

Downtown carriage rides will also be available to the public during the recipe walk. Cost is $1 per person and rides will be on a first come first serve basis. Rides will begin at 11 a.m. and end at 2 p.m. Pick up and drop off for the rides will be at the intersection of Bancroft and Third streets at 200 East Third St.

Community decorated downtown shamrocks will line Third Street and Almont Avenue during the walk as a street art exhibit. Barrett said that's the main new thing this year.

"Our books will be bigger by 10 recipes," Barrett said. "We'll have 40 pages of 80 recipes. The walk is to showcase the downtown in the winter months. All of our shamrocks are sponsored with the money going to the event."

Shamrock sponsors include the following: The County Press, Options Salon, Pro Tanning, the Daily Grind, Nacho Taco House, Kitty Resale, Tri-County Bank, CSB Bank, Michigan Business Product, the Learning Depot, Extreme Dance and Cheer, Focus Studio, Kelly Pet Salon, Output Entertainment, H and R Block, LA View, Sportsmen Barbershop, Scoops, Curves for Women, Creations Floral, Climate Guard-Jennifer, Queens Cottage, Ruth Hughes Memorial District Library, and Imlay City Florist.
