Local News PUBLISHED:
"We have a lot of people in North Branch regularly making money by using eBay," said North Branch Postmaster Robert Lauinger. "In our local community there's about 40 to 45 postal patrons who deal with it all the time." The class is designed to help would-be entrepreneurs discover the tricks of the trade, instead of learning the system by making errors. "There are a lot of patrons expressing frustrations, and many others who don't know how to get started," said Lauinger. "The class will show them how to get started, how to sell and buy safely, and how to save money on shipping." Attendees will learn the best methods of selling, trading and shipping on eBay. Banks and other instructors experienced using eBay and the Postal Service's Clik-N-Ship service will show those in attendance how to get started. They'll teach how to make the most of money producing opportunities through online auctioning. "People who sell online want the process to be as convenient and cost-effective as possible," said Banks in a statement. "At these sessions we show participants how to make eBay work for them and how the Postal Service's online features really simplify the process of shipping sold items." Attendees will also learn to set pricing, open and use a PayPal account to secure online payment, monitor their listings and complete transactions. The Feb. 1 program is free and open to the public, but due to limited seating, reservations are needed. Phone Lauinger at (810) 688-3652 for registration or information.
